Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor Hints
Where can I learn and buy spells?
1 of 5: You can learn the skills to cast spells and buy spell books from the appropriate Magic Guilds across the lands of Erathia.
2 of 5: Only characters in the appropriate classes can learn magic skills, but anyone can buy a spell book.
3 of 5: This means you should have the character with the highest merchant skill buy the spell book, and then give it to the one who is actually going to learn the spell.
4 of 5: If you just want a single use of a spell for a skill that you haven't learned yet, you can find scrolls in the magic shops located in most towns. Anyone can cast a spell on a scroll -- helpful either to cure a spellcaster with a serious condition (like dead or stoned) or just to provide a bit of extra power on offense.
5 of 5: The School of Sorcery in the Bracada Desert will also give you "unlimited" access to their libraries for 6 months for 5,000 GP, but in practice, I found that they forgot I had bought a membership and only got a couple of scrolls for the price. If you really need a particular scroll and can't find it in a magic shop, you may want to give the School of Sorcery a shot, but you may want to save first, just in case the library membership doesn't work the way it's supposed to for you either.
