About the Optional Quests
The "optional quests" are quests that are not required to solve the game nor are required for any rank promotions (e.g., to go from Knight to Cavalier). Some of them may still be extremely helpful in the sense that they give you experience or gold that you can use to build your party. The rewards for completing a quest are located in the first hint in each question, so you can decide whether the quest is worth your time. Quests are sorted by the location where they are given to you, and not by where they must be performed.
