Identify Monster

  • 1 of 5: Identify Monster tells you things that you can often figure out on your own with a little trial and error.  You can get a monster's hit points with the Detect Life spell and tell how much damage it does by seeing what happens to your characters.  Knowing what spells they can cast (Master level) helps -- in part because you can learn about defensive spells the monsters are using, and perhaps know when to dispel them (if you have Light Magic).  You can guess monsters' resistances by seeing how various spells work on them, but it's not always easy to tell "resistant" from "immune".  So Grand Master Identify Monster can come in handy toward the end.
