Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer Hints

What do you mean by "aggressive campaign"?

  • 1 of 4: Most people, when playing through Might and Magic VIII, would play what I call a conservative campaign, meaning that they carefully do all they can in one area before moving on to another. It also means they avoid tougher areas as long as possible.
  • 2 of 4: In my aggressive campaign, you'll be conservative only in the Dagger Wound Island area, after which you will make a big push toward Garrote Gorge and Murmurwoods. It sounds tough, and kind of is, but it is definitely doable. If you want tips on how to manage it, read the region-related hint sections that follow this question.
  • 3 of 4: The sections below don't give away particular puzzle solutions, although they may point you to "extras" that some players would prefer to discover on their own. The main point of these sections is to tell you what to do to get a Great Wyrm and Dark Elf Patriarch in your party much earlier in the game than you normally could. You'll still need to see the puzzle-specific hints for information on how to solve puzzles and quests.
  • 4 of 4: The first section does give some detailed information on how to make the most of the Dagger Wound Island opportunities, so if you want, you could just do that on your own and skip down to the Ravenshore section to see how to progress from there.
