Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer Hints
Who was Lord Brinne supposed to be?
1 of 3: According to the official Prima strategy guide for MM8, he was a real-life Might and Magic fan, and all the statue people arrayed about the top level of the tomb were users of the Might and Magic message boards.
2 of 3: Steve Jaqvaar, founder of the Guild of the Wooden Flute, wrote in saying that Lord Brinne was a real person who died in July, 2000. He was an Ultima fan, too, and one of the Ultima games has a similar tribute to him (and so does Morrowind, the third Elder Scrolls series game). Jaqvaar also said that twelve of the guards were members of the Guild of the Wooden Flute, and the rest were other 3DO Community members picked by New World Computing.
3 of 3: I hope nothing I said in my first version of this hint file about Lord Brinne, the tomb, or the statue people offended anyone. If so, I'm very sorry.
