Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer Hints
Alvar
1 of 4: Pick up the horseshoes near the stable (save them all!), try the town fountain, drink up the stat barrels in town, grab loose items, sell Tobersk Pulp, etc., etc.
2 of 4: Your only goals here now are to get the Horseshoes (to use on Ithilgore when you get to him) and deliver the report to Bastian Loudrin (for experience). You might also want to train a bit and use the local teachers to become experts in a few things, like Alchemy and Dark Magic.
3 of 4: Don't use the Horseshoes under any circumstances! Your soon-to-join Dragon hireling needs all of them from Ravenshore, Alvar, and Garrote Gorge to become a master of Dragon Ability right away (so he can fly you around outdoors).
4 of 4: When you're through in Alvar, go to Garrote Gorge when the stable is ready to take you (Thursday or Sunday).
