Is this area any more vital than the Ancient Troll Home?
1 of 4: Not at all, even though it's a bit harder to clear out.
2 of 4: If you can handle all the tough Dwarves, Boulders, and Juggernauts, you can plunder the treasure chests behind secret panels down the north and south tunnels.
3 of 4: Basically, this is just another optional area with no quests to fulfill or anything like that.
4 of 4: Watch out for the Ice Blast trap triggers arrayed around the lift on the bottom floor.
