Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer Hints
Notes and Extras
1 of 3: There are two pirate regeneration points, both of which are near little boats that have landed on shore. Each point regenerates a dozen or so Buccaneers every time you kill off all the ones from the previous generation, up to 30 or so times. To gain maximal experience and gold from the Dagger Wound Island area, you should take the time to trash the pirates until they stop regenerating.
2 of 3: Also, once you get bows, shoot the three special pirate leaders that are standing on ships that are anchored near the shore. They each have 400 hit points, can fire arrows, can break your readied weapons (with arrows!), and do much more damage per hit than the wimp pirates that infest the island. Their ships are close enough to shore that you can fire arrows back at them and eventually kill them, but you'll have to keep dodging their arrows, or you won't survive. (To raid their bodies, you'll have to return to Dagger Wound later in the game when you have the Fly spell.)
3 of 3: Each fallout area (ugly burned patch on the ground) has one or two Meteor Fragments in it, but be careful when grabbing them. If some fallout hits while you're in range, it'll hurt you like a powerful Meteor Shower spell (which will pretty much annihilate beginning characters).
