Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer Hints
Why do I only get to create one character in this game?
1 of 5: Because that's all you'll ever need.
2 of 5: Just kidding. MM8 handles the adventuring party more like the old pre-MM6 games, meaning you can switch most party members in and out during the course of the game. You're not stuck forever with the four guys you create initially like in MM6&7.
3 of 5: So sure, it means you only have one guy at first, but you can pick up three more in the village of Blood Drop before you go into combat, and you can even pick up a fifth member later on. That means a full party has not four, but five adventurers.
4 of 5: The bad news is that there are no longer any hirelings like the ones you could get in MM6&7 that would enhance a stat or skill, give more money or experience, cut down on travel time, and good stuff like that.
5 of 5: Whenever I refer to hirelings in this hint file, I mean the adventurers that can be recruited throughout the course of the game (some from the Adventurer's Inn, and some from their homes in various regions).
