How do I get past the chessboard on the top level?
  • 1 of 6: Just walk across it.
  • 2 of 6: The chess pieces will transform into Demons when you try to enter the next room no matter what.
  • 3 of 6: If you're careful, though, they won't see you right away.
  • 4 of 6: You can back off and shoot one from a distance to get his attention, then run down the corridor.
  • 5 of 6: They'll probably all come after you, so you may want to retreat to a narrow corridor where they can't fan out and surround you.
  • 6 of 6: And don't forget to cast every useful spell in the book, especially Pain Reflection (the spell that makes them say, "This is going to hurt me as much as it hurts you."). Also excellent are Regeneration, Souldrinker, Chain Lightning, Elemental Aura, and Poison Cloud.
