Might and Magic IX Hints
How do I use the spell checklists?
1 of 3: These lists tell you all the spells that each fully-promoted character can learn once he's gone as far as he can in all four of the magic skills (which is nowhere for assassins and gladiators, so they're not included).
2 of 3: Check off a spell as your character of that class either learns it or gets a learning book put in his inventory for it (for later learning). Always check your checklists when you find a spell book to see if anyone will eventually be able to learn it before you sell it.
3 of 3: When you do get a spell book for a spell that you want one of your characters to learn, you can right-click on it to see what skills at what level of mastery are required to actually add the spell to the character's spell book. Rest assured that if the spell is listed on his checklist, he'll be able to learn it sooner or later, so be sure to keep the book in his inventory.
