Might and Magic IX Hints
Character Creation and Ravenshore
1 of 6: When you create your characters, make them all dwarf initiates. You need to make them all initiates so that you can achieve the goal of ending up with the most powerful party possible (all mages and liches), and you need to make them all dwarves so they can all start the game with an Endurance of 25.
2 of 6: Even though these are magic-users, it'll be much easier to survive the Isle of Ashes and other early-game areas if you give each initiate the following stats: Might=17, Magic=7, Endurance=25, Accuracy=13, Speed=13, Luck=10
3 of 6: Give each character the Bow skill for early ranged combat and the Light skill so they can all heal each other.
4 of 6: In Ravenshore, have each character equip his bow and learn his spells, and also have him set his quick spell to be Heal.
5 of 6: Talk to the old man and get the Disarm Trap and Identify Item skill books, then have someone learn each skill (it doesn't really matter who).
6 of 6: Then head on out to the ship and sail to the Isle of Ashes.
