Might and Magic IX Hints
How do I avoid all the floor traps?
1 of 6: You see them as glowing red squares on the floor if your Perception is 2 or better.
2 of 6: Some of them don't extend all the way across the hall, so you can just walk around them. (Or walk across them in crouch mode if they're ceiling spike traps.)
3 of 6: Others are part of flip-traps that try to slap you down into pits of spikes. It's best to take a running jump past them (or bypass them by going along another route, which is sometimes possible).
4 of 6: Another thing you can do with flip-traps is step on them to activate them, then run back quickly to avoid being thrown in the pit of spikes.
5 of 6: You can then move forward and stand on the trap until it flips back into its original position, which will put you in a small alcove.
6 of 6: Each alcove has a button in the middle of one wall that you can use to flip back out of the alcove, and one of the alcoves (near the SE corner of the keep) has a treasure chest in a wall niche (note that its Lock Difficulty is 3).
