Might and Magic IX Hints
Stop the war between Sturmford and Drangheim.
of 8: This quest is given to you by Thorolf Ratatoskssen, who appears and speaks to you the first time you enter any city after the six Jarls join the alliance and schedule a war council. (Look for him near the city gates.)
of 8: The first thing to do is talk to the two Jarls of Sturmford and Drangheim.
of 8: Admit to the sabotage you committed against each one at the request of the other, and you'll get them to agree to signing a peace treaty.
of 8: To get the treaty, go ask Kira the Cold in Thronheim City for help.
of 8: She'll say the treaty will be ready the next morning, so return for it then (or just use the rest menu option to wait until dawn).
of 8: Once you have the treaty, visit the Sturmford and Drangheim Jarls again (Town Portal is very useful for all this) and talk them into meeting at Kira's place to sign it.
of 8: Then return to Kira's room in her castle (which is now the council room) to see the signing done, and to pick up the next quest.
of 8: NOTE: Always save your game right before approaching Kira's room and getting the long cut scene for the meeting. On rare occasions, the game will glitch and not actually put the next quest in your official quest notebook, making it (and the game) impossible to finish. The only solution that I know works is to restore a save from before the meeting and go through it again. The glitch won't happen consistently, at least.
