The Secret of Monkey Island Hints

Where can I find gunpowder?

  • 1 of 14: Where would you expect to find gunpowder?
  • 2 of 14: In a cannon, perhaps?
  • 3 of 14: There's a cannon somewhere on Monkey Island.
  • 4 of 14: Forts usually have cannons.
  • 5 of 14: At the edge of a volcano.
  • 6 of 14: Have you seen any volcanoes?
  • 7 of 14: Or any volcanic looking craters?
  • 8 of 14: From the map screen which includes the south shore, go west to the next map screen.
  • 9 of 14: Herman Toothrot's home, the fort, is at the top edge of the crater.
  • 10 of 14: There's a cannon inside the fort.
  • 11 of 14: And gunpowder's inside the cannon.
  • 12 of 14: But you can't just reach into the cannon.
  • 13 of 14: Push the cannon to makes some gunpowder spill out.
  • 14 of 14: Pick up the gunpowder.  (If Herman Toothrot's inside, you may have to leave the fort and re-enter.)
