How can I get the banana picker?

  • 1 of 21: Who did Herman Toothrot say had stolen his banana picker?  (Reread the memos you've found for memory assistance.)
  • 2 of 21: Cannibals took it.
  • 3 of 21: You need to have stolen the cannibals' bananas.
  • 4 of 21: They're in the bowl of fruit at the leftmost part of the cannibals' village.
  • 5 of 21: Once you've been imprisoned, you know where the banana picker is.
  • 6 of 21: But the banana picker is too big to fit through the hole in the floor.
  • 7 of 21: You need to take it out the door.
  • 8 of 21: To do this you need to get the Cannibals on your side.
  • 9 of 21: Have you talked to them before they imprison you?  (Every time you go back to the leftmost side of the Village after stealing the bananas, you will be re-imprisoned.)
  • 10 of 21: Try the various dialogue options.
  • 11 of 21: In particular, say "Please don't eat me!  I'll give you anything."
  • 12 of 21: The cannibals say they want something that will please the Great Monkey.
  • 13 of 21: If you offer them various items, they say they want something of "spiritual value" that the Great Monkey could use.
  • 14 of 21: The Great Monkey already has everything it needs.
  • 15 of 21: Maybe you should give the Cannibals something the Great Monkey already possesses.
  • 16 of 21: Or something a great Monkey Head possesses.
  • 17 of 21: Maybe the Great Monkey and the cannibals would like one of the idols in front of the Monkey Head.
  • 18 of 21: But it has to be an idol light enough for Guybrush to carry,
  • 19 of 21: Pick up the "Wimpy Little Idol."
  • 20 of 21: In the cannibals' village, give the wimpy little idol to the cannibals when they try to recapture you.
  • 21 of 21: The banana picker is now yours for the taking.
