How do I get into the big tree?
1 of 10: The plank that's already in one of the holes in the tree is a hint.
2 of 10: You need to find another plank to help you walk up the tree.
3 of 10: There's an oar in Governor Marley's mansion.
4 of 10: The oar won't be available until after you've tried to take the piece of the map.
5 of 10: Just pick up the map from the wall and try to walk out of the mansion. Once you do, Guybrush (the dog) will detect the map on you, and you'll be taken to the Governor's bedroom, where you can find the oar.
6 of 10: Then, try using the oar on the second hole (just to the right of the plank). Walk onto the plank and then the oar.
7 of 10: Too bad the oar broke. Guess you're going to have to get it fixed before you continue.
8 of 10: The oar is made out of wood.
9 of 10: Go take it to the woodsmith on Scabb Island to get it fixed. Then you can use the oar to get up the tree.
10 of 10: Just climb the tree one hole at a time. Once you're on the second "step," pick up the plank, move it to the third hole, walk onto the plank, and repeat the pattern until Guybrush figures out what you're up to.
