The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

Robe of St. Roris Repatch

  • I know a lot of you are discouraged by the fact that installing a patch or game expansion will "fix" the Robe of St. Roris so that it's a "Cast When Used" item instead of a "Constant Effect" item, as it was in the unpatched game. Well, I've found two ways to edit the game files to set the robe back to being a "Constant Effect" item! Read on for the details.

First, let me recommend you to the powerful TES Construction Set program that's included with the game. I recently figured out how to work it to the extent that I can give directions for using it to set the Robe of St. Roris back to being a constant effect item. Click on the hint question below to learn how.

If you can't get that to work for you, you can e-mail me and request my RORISUNP program, which is a free program I wrote and distribute that modifies the MORROWIND.ESM file to unpatch the robe. *DO NOT* e-mail the UHS Support people asking for this program, because they don't distribute it and are not responsible for it in any way. Only I distribute it through my private e-mail site (dunigase@yahoo.com).

I also distribute MOROBJED, which is a program for editing your savegame files that will allow you to greatly enhance any enchanted item that you make in the game. For instance, you can easily turn a "Cast When Used" ring that restores health 10 points for 2 seconds into a "Constant Effect" ring that restores health at a rate of 50 points per second! This program, like RORISUNP, is free from me at dunigase@yahoo.com.
