The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

The Shrine of Malacath

  • 1 of 8: This shrine is inside the Assurdirapal Shrine at location 30 on the Dagon Fel map.
  • 2 of 8: Go to the inner shrine area and activate the statue to get this quest.
  • 3 of 8: Malacath wants you to find and kill the descendant of a guy named Oreyn Bearclaw.
  • 4 of 8: Go to Vivec and ask around about Bearclaw to learn that the descendant you want is Farvyn Oreyn.
  • 5 of 8: You'll learn that Oreyn went to Gnaar Mok on a mission, so sail there and ask about him.
  • 6 of 8: You should eventually find him and his retainers SW of town near Shurinbaal (location 11 on the Ald'ruhn map).
  • 7 of 8: You can talk to him about things, but you might as well just kill him. There's no way out of that requirement if you're going to finish this quest.
  • 8 of 8: Return to the Malacath statue and activate it again to get the promised Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw.
