The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

The Shrine of Sheogorath

  • 1 of 11: This shrine is hidden in the St. Delyn Underworks in Vivec.
  • 2 of 11: You'll have to fight a tough battle with cultists before you'll have the place to yourself.
  • 3 of 11: Activate the giant statue in the shrine to get this quest.
  • 4 of 11: Sheo wants you to get the Fork of Horripilation from a certain hermit and kill a certain giant netch with it.
  • 5 of 11: The hermit is Big Head, and his shack is at location 23 on the Ald Redaynia map.
  • 6 of 11: Talk to him about "Fork of Horripilation," and he'll invite you to take it.
  • 7 of 11: It's on the dinner table, and looks like a barbecue fork.
  • 8 of 11: The giant netch you need to jab with the fork is to the east at location 34 on the Dagon Fel map.
  • 9 of 11: Note that you don't have to do the entire battle with the netch with the fork; you just have to deliver the killing blow with it. You could shoot the netch full of arrows first, then move in with the fork. However, save your game before attacking the netch, since you'll have to restore and try again if you accidentally kill it with anything other than the fork.
  • 10 of 11: Another way is to use a spell (like Toxic Cloud) or weapon (like the Black Hands Dagger) to start an injury-over-time effect on the giant netch, and then switch to the fork as your currently readied weapon before it dies.
  • 11 of 11: Once you succeed, go activate Sheo's statue again to get the fork replaced by the Spear of Bitter Mercy.
