The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

Felen's Ebony Staff

  • 1 of 8: Helende's last quest has you going to Tel Branora in the Bal Fell region to steal a special staff.
  • 2 of 8: Take the boat west of Sadrith Mora to Tel Branora, then find the Upper Tower a ways to the east.
  • 3 of 8: In the tower, find the door to Therana's Chamber.
  • 4 of 8: Once in the chamber, you'll have to use a levitate potion or spell to get up to the next floor, where Felen's room is. Good thing Helende gave you some potions for that, huh?
  • 5 of 8: Felen's staff is the big magic one leaning against the shelves.
  • 6 of 8: As always, you can either try taking it while in Sneak mode to get away with the theft, or you can just grab it and run away or teleport out. (You could stand just outside Maryon's room and nab the staff using Telekinesis, then quickly drop down the floor hole before he can attack.)
  • 7 of 8: TIP: You can get behind the shelf that the staff is leaning against and stand so that you can steal things off of the shelf without Maryon having a chance of seeing you. As for the staff, carefully maneuver so that you can see a small part of it while minimizing Maryon's ability to see you, then quicksave and snatch the staff in Sneak mode. You shouldn't have to restore and retry very many (if any) times before you get it.
  • 8 of 8: Return to Helende with the staff to get a cool Telekinesis-casting ring and your bounty erased. (You can also get 250 gold by giving her the staff, but it's worth way more than that whether you want to use it as a weapon or sell it.)
