Spell Finding
If you check pages 30 thru 35 of the game manual, you'll see a complete list of all spell types in the game. These are the basic types that all spells are built from. An actual spell will usually include a range, duration, magnitude, area of effect, and whatever else is appropriate for that spell type. In order to create a new spell or put a spell effect on an enchanted item, you need to know at least one spell that includes the desired spell type. The main way to acquire new spell types is to buy spells from spell sellers. There are spell sellers in every Mages Guild, temple, and Telvanni tower in the game, and in quite a few other places, too.
The list below was designed to help you quickly locate a spell seller when you're wanting to obtain a particular spell type for spellmaking or enchanting. Remember that the name of the actual spell you need to buy may be different from the name of the spell type. For instance, to get the Jump spell type from Sirilonwe in Vivec, buy her Tinur's Hoptoad spell.
NOTE: These effects are not available in any spells from known spell sellers: Absorb Magicka, Absorb Skill, Cure Corprus Disease, Damage Skill, Fortify Maximum Magicka, Fortify Skill, Resist Normal Weapons, Restore Magicka, Restore Skill, Remove Curse, Stunted Magicka, Weakness to Blight Disease, Weakness to Corprus Disease, Weakness to Normal Weapons.
