The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Notes and extras
of 13: Balmora City is a great place to make some money. You can take stuff from all the containers scattered about the city without getting in trouble, and you can steal items from most of the merchants and houses in town. (Just be sure no one can see you when you take the items, and don't try to sell them to the guy you steal them from.)
of 13: There's a neat Sword of White Woe in the Eastern Guard Tower near Cosades' house. Go to the top floor of the tower and look on top of the closet to find it. To take it peacefully, you'll have to grab it in Sneak mode, which won't be easy. Look for another of these beauties in Suran's Guard Tower in the Bal Ur region.
of 13: Ask Nine Toes in his house about "Blades Trainers" to get four units of moon sugar that you can sell to Ra'Virr in his shop or Ajira in the Mages Guild.
of 13: Nalcarya has a grandmaster-quality mortar & pestle on a shelf near the door in her shop. It's definitely worth stealing if you're into making your own potions.
of 13: Right near the entrance to Shal is a large hollow tree stump with a barrel of ingredients in it. To get to it, you have to get up on top of the largest nearby rock and jump from there to the stump.
of 13: Just north of Yasamsi is a trapped treasure chest next to a large green pond.
of 13: When exploring the Unexplored Shipwreck, be sure to find the diamonds on the lower level, the moon sugar on the upper level, and the barrels and chest that are outside the wreck nearby.
of 13: If you can handle the monsters in the Vassir-Didanat cave, you can raid the place for lots of valuable raw ebony. Simply find an ebony deposit on a cave wall or ceiling and treat it like a treasure chest. (Come with a light inventory, since raw ebony is very heavy.)
of 13: In the Vassir-Didanat cave and other dark areas with monsters, it's always a good idea to have your favorite weapon and a torch available via quick keys. That way, you can quickly press 1 (or whatever) to ready your weapon if you stumble across a monster while exploring with your torch readied. Many areas have torches and lanterns available for you to take and use, especially the bandit caves.
of 13: Velfred's ship has several different areas you can loot separately. Attacking the one guy in an area won't alert or anger anyone in another area. You can get lots of good stuff that way, including a bunch of raw ebony.
of 13: Once you're high-ranking enough in the Thieves Guild, Hecerinde will not only train you but also sell you Secret Master lockpicks and probes. Those are even better than the master and grandmaster ones, so buy!
of 13: In the Ashurnibibi Shrine, there's a small chest underwater just south of the big statue room. Included in the chest's contents is a key that will open a locked door in a watery tunnel past the big statue room. (However, there's nothing worthwhile past the door, so don't waste your time.)
of 13: If you join Great House Hlaalu and build a stronghold at Odai Plateau, look for an ebony longsword on the upstairs table once the place is completed.
