How can I trick a regular trainer into training a skill all the way to 100?
- 1 of 7: The key to it is remembering that the trainer will always look at the *current* value of the skill, not the regular value. That means if the skill was as high as the trainer could train it, but then was drained by something, the trainer could train you again before the draining effect wears off.
- 2 of 7: So go buy the Scourge Blade spell from Tinaso Alan in Tel Mora's Tower Services area so that you can pay a spellmaker to create spells that drain skills. See the Tel Mora Notes and Extras if you need help finding the door to Tower Services.
- 3 of 7: Once your favorite trainer for a skill can't train you anymore, create a spell that drains that skill on "Self" for 2 seconds, then cast that spell right before asking for training again.
- 4 of 7: When you create each drain skill spell, make its magnitude be 100 minus the max skill level that the trainer can take you to in order to make sure you can keep using the same spell until you're trained all the way up to level 100. Note that to cast such a spell reliably, you'll have to have your Destruction skill at about 30 to 35 points.
- 5 of 7: When you cast the spell and then train, you'll get a +1 skill increase which will stay with you when the draining spell wears off (which it will during the 2-hour training session).
- 6 of 7: For example, let's say you train your Alchemy skill all the way up to 50 with Galbedir in Balmora's Mages Guild, but you want to go further. Go to Estirdalin (the nearest spellmaker) and make a spell that will drain your Alchemy skill by 50 points for 2 seconds whenever it's cast. Then cast it and get Galbedir to train you again, then cast it again and ask for training again, etc.
- 7 of 7: TIP: If you make your drain spell to always drain 100 points, it'll be a bit more expensive to make and cast, but your training is guaranteed to always be super-mega-cheap (only 1 gold per session).
