The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
How can I finish off Dagoth Ur without Wraithguard?
of 8: Wraithguard's main purpose is making the Keening and Sunder weapons safe to use.
of 8: However, it is possible (though painful) to use Keening and Sunder without having Wraithguard.
of 8: When you ready one of those weapons without Wraithguard, it steadily drains your health, but the health drain stops the moment you unready it.
of 8: That means you could grab Keening and Sunder and go confront Dagoth Ur at any time.
of 8: When you approach the Heart of Lorkhan, ready Sunder and use it, then quickly ready something else and heal up.
of 8: Ready Keening and jab the heart quickly until it dies, then ready something else and heal (and run).
of 8: As long as the weapons and Dagoth Ur don't knock your hit points down to zero at any time, it'll work!
of 8: NOTE: Afterwards, you can visit Vivec in his palace and get Wraithguard from him using the "business" dialogue topic. That way you can keep using Keening and Sunder without having to worry about the health drain.
