The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

How can I get Wraithguard activated?

  • 1 of 12: Since it's a Dwemer artifact, why not ask the only surviving member of that race?
  • 2 of 12: Go visit Yagrum Bagarn in the Corprusarium Bowels in Tel Fyr (location 4 on the Tel Aruhn map).
  • 3 of 12: He'll immediately notice the artifact that you're carrying, so ask him about "unique dwemer artifact" and "mythopoeic enchantments."
  • 4 of 12: Ask if he can restore the artifact and then plead with him on the basis of your reputation. This will work if have at least 20 Reputation points, or if you have Vivec's copies of "Dagoth Ur's Plans" and "The Plan to Defeat Dagoth Ur" (which are available in the same room that you killed Vivec in).
  • 5 of 12: Bagarn will then say that since he wasn't part of Kagrenac's project way back when, he'll need Kagrenac's plans and notes in order to figure out how to activate Wraithguard.
  • 6 of 12: So now you need to travel to Endusal (location 5 on the Ghostgate map) to get Kagrenac's Journal and to Tureynulal (location 14 on the Dagoth Ur map) to get Kagrenac's Planbook.
  • 7 of 12: In Kagrenac's Library in Endusal, find the room with Dagoth Endus, a powerful ash vampire, and look for a red book on the floor under a set of shelves. That'll be Kagrenac's Journal.
  • 8 of 12: In Tureynulal, go past Dagoth Molos to find Dagoth Tureynal (another ash vampire). He has a key on him that opens the nearby locked desk, which has Kagrenac's Planbook in it.
  • 9 of 12: Return to Bagarn with those two volumes and talk to him about "mythopoeic enchantments" again.
  • 10 of 12: He'll say to come back in a day and see what he's learned, but the real requirement here is that your hit point total be at least 225. If it isn't, you'll never get anything useful out of Bagarn. You'll have to go adventure some more (and train your major and minor skills with trainers) until you can level up to where you have 225 or more HP.
  • 11 of 12: Then come talk to him once more about "mythopoeic enchantments" and tell him you want to activate Wraithguard. He'll do it, and you'll now have a wearable magic gauntlet in your inventory called Wraithguard.
  • 12 of 12: Despite his warning that it'll backfire painfully the first time you put it on, it really doesn't. (Or if it does, just rest and heal up.)
