The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

Ebony Mail

  • 1 of 8: If you've done everybody's Temple quests except this one, you should be able to get Saryoni to promote you to Master. Once he's done that and you've finished his Four Corners quests, you can talk to him about "duties" to get this one final quest.
  • 2 of 8: He'll tell you to go to the Mount Assarnibibi Shrine and activate it to get the Ebony Mail.
  • 3 of 8: Fortunately, this shrine isn't a big old Daedric shrine -- it's just a little obelisk shrine in a circle of stones at location 13 on the Molag Mar map.
  • 4 of 8: So take a boat or silt strider to Molag Mar and head north and a bit east to get to the shrine.
  • 5 of 8: When you find it, simply activate it to receive the wondrous Ebony Mail armor. It's medium armor with a base AC value that's as good as the best Heavy Armor, and it has constant effects on it of Resist Fire 75%, Shield 50 points, and Resist Magicka 20%.
  • 6 of 8: When you return to Saryoni, talk to him about "Ebony Mail" and volunteer to turn it over.
  • 7 of 8: He'll let you keep it, and will promote you to Patriarch of the Temple. Yes!
  • 8 of 8: TIP: You can now go back to several of the Temple quest givers and ask them for the artifacts that you recovered for them in some of their quests.
