The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Find out why the dwarves disappeared.
of 9: Artorius is in the Mages Guild in the Foreign Quarter Plaza in Vivec. Talk to him about "duties" to get his quests.
of 9: The first quest is a real doozy. You're supposed to solve a mystery that has baffled generations.
of 9: But all you really need are three particular books and someone smart enough to translate and interpret them.
of 9: The books are "Hanging Gardens," "The Egg of Time," and "Divine Metaphysics." You'll get them during the course of the last three of Edwinna Elbert's Quests.
of 9: Once you have them, you need to take them to someone who can figure out what they're all about. Trebonius certainly isn't going to have a clue.
of 9: The most obvious "person" to go see is Yagrum Bagarn, the only surviving dwarf. He's in the Corprusarium Bowels region under Tel Fyr (location 4 on the Tel Aruhn map).
of 9: Talk to him about "Disappearance of the Dwarves" and "Egg of Time" to get the info you need.
of 9: As an alternative, you could visit Baladas Demnevanni in Arvs-Drelen in the town of Gnisis and talk to him about "Disappearance of the Dwarves" and "Divine Metaphysics."
of 9: Either way, return to Trebonius and talk to him about "Disappearance of the Dwarves" to finish the quest.
