Fake Soul Gem
  • 1 of 10: This is Ajira's second quest -- it involves sabotaging a rival of hers.
  • 2 of 10: You're to switch soul gems so Galbedir's project won't work.
  • 3 of 10: Her desk is on the top floor of the guild building. You'll pass her on your way up.
  • 4 of 10: Open the desk and take the soul gem that's in it.
  • 5 of 10: Then put the fake one that Ajira gave you into the desk.
  • 6 of 10: Then why not steal all the good stuff that's sitting on top of the desk? It includes some very valuable soul gems, one of which is worth 60,000 gold!
  • 7 of 10: If you can open the locked chest nearby, it'll have several cool magic weapons in it, including a two-handed longsword called Foeburner.
  • 8 of 10: Steal quickly, then head back downstairs to report success to Ajira.
  • 9 of 10: Or, since Galbedir "freezes" where she is when you report success to Ajira, you could skip the stealing and quickly run back to Ajira before Galbedir can get back up the stairs. Then you can loot her stash at your leisure. (Note that this doesn't always work, but it usually does.)
  • 10 of 10: NOTE: Once you have Galbedir's soul gems, you can get started on some serious item enchanting (with an enchanter in another Mages Guild, of course). You could even contrive to start doing constant effect enchantments if you do things right. See my Enchanting Tips for all the details.
