Recruit or Kill Llarar Bereloth
  • 1 of 7: Ranis Athrys, who's in the Balmora Mages Guild, gives you this quest if you have the rank of Journeyman or better in the guild and ask her about "duties" and "join us."
  • 2 of 7: Bereloth lives with several other Telvanni way up north in the Bal Ur region.
  • 3 of 7: It's a real pain to get to his place, especially with all the diseased monsters running about loose. Don't go until you obtain several potions and scrolls that can cure common disease and blight. (You may also want to get yourself a cheap Rising Force potion and use it at Vivec's Grace of Daring shrine to make travel over the rugged terrain much easier.)
  • 4 of 7: When you make it to Sulipund (location 9 on the Bal Ur map), enter and climb up to the top floor.
  • 5 of 7: Bereloth will agree to join the Mages Guild if you can get his disposition up to 70, but since Telvanni hate members of the Mages Guild (including you), that would be very difficult indeed.
  • 6 of 7: If your Speechcraft skill isn't up to it, then just kill him and loot the place. The other Telvanni are also fair game.
  • 7 of 7: Return to Athrys with news of whatever you did to finish the quest and get two good potions.
