What's new in these hints...
Okay, *this* is for sure going to be the final release of this hint file because Oblivion is coming out mere days after I write this, and it's going to become my next huge update-it-over-several-years hint-writing project. So enjoy this really final version of the Morrowind hint file, which includes these new features:
* Several new tips for the character creation process
* Info in "Spell Tips" on creating spells that can put constant effects on you
* Combat tip for trying to jump onto your opponent's head
* Improved many of the quest hints
* Clarified when and how the "permanent" attribute increases from corprus disease go away
* Tip for finding a glass jinkblade in Ebonheart's underground cave area
* Clarified exactly which Fighters Guild quest makes it impossible to ever join the Thieves Guild
* Glitch tips added for Lalatia Varian's first and second quests for the Imperial Cult
* Added directions on getting to Tel Mora's Tower Services area to the Tel Mora "Notes and Extras"
* Figured out how and when the "Strange Man at Gindrala Hleran's House" quest can be gotten
The release before this one added these changes:
* Reorganized parts of the encyclopedia-like "General Tips and Information" section to hopefully make it easier to use
* Added a lot of new stuff to the general tips, much of which is thanks to you loyal readers who wrote in
* Added the "Creep Train" strategy, which works great for *any* type of beginning character, to the character development tips
* Redid the section on the PC console cheats so it'll be easier to find stuff (also put in new cheat info sections on factions and journal entries)
* Added *all* spell types to the "Spell Finding" list, even the easy-to-find ones
* Put in new tip on training that lets you train a skill to 100 with *any* trainer of that skill very cheaply
* Added glitch info for using the Light of Day mace to permanently pump up armor class and magicka resistance
* Added glitch info for using Bound spells to duplicate most armor and weapon items in the game
* Added "Ideal Armor Sets" list for telling which armor types are the best in all three weight categories
* Added "Best Weapons" list for telling which artifact weapons are the best in all six categories
* Proofread all of the quest hints for the first time in two years and made many improvements
The formerly final release incorporated the following changes to version 2.0:
* All quests renamed to match the names given in the game's new quest journal feature
* All annotated map keys now have direct links to misc. quests
* New questions in the Vivec section about Ordinator attacks and the Puzzle Canal
* Small correction on the House Redoran quest entitled "Shut the Mines Down"
* Information on readying constant effect items with negative effects
* Misc. Tips section in "General Tips and Information"
* Lists of the best constant effect items, where to find spells of different types, and cheap trainer locations
* Tips on achieving a 100-point Spell Absorption or Sanctuary effect in the Character Creation tips
* More tips on enchanting items
* Great new tip on fast travel via magic spells
* More hints on freeing slaves
* New PlayerSaveGame console cheats for giving yourself great constant effects
* Info on the "position" console command for teleporting things other than yourself
* Console tip for summoning secret master-quality tools
