The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints

Get donation from Pelelius.

  • 1 of 16: The next quest is another monetary donation quest, and as usual, you can just talk to Truptor again to pay it off and be done with it.
  • 2 of 16: If you don't want to do that, then travel to Caldera and speak to Cunius Pelelius in the Governor's Hall about donating 500 drakes.
  • 3 of 16: Don't try to press him for a commitment, threaten him, or get his disposition up. None of that will work.
  • 4 of 16: Instead, go try to dig up a little dirt on him. You know, leverage.
  • 5 of 16: Ask around in the Governor's Hall about him, and you'll find one person that can tell you something interesting.
  • 6 of 16: Find Olumba gro-Boglar in the south upstairs hall and talk to him about Pelelius.
  • 7 of 16: He'll say that Pelelius has been sneaking into the mine at night to steal ebony, and that the slaves in the mine would know about it.
  • 8 of 16: So go visit the mine. Its entrance is just east of the mining company's offices and quarters, which are a short distance SW of Caldera (location 20 on the Ald'ruhn map).
  • 9 of 16: There are several slaves in the mine, but none of them will tell you anything useful unless their dispositions are 55 or more.
  • 10 of 16: The easy way to accomplish that is to get the key from the table on the top floor of the Mining Guard Tower (outside the mine) and set the slaves free. That'll really raise their dispositions up high!
  • 11 of 16: Talk to one about "Cunius Pelelius" and then "smuggling raw ebony." That's all you need.
  • 12 of 16: Go back to Pelelius in the Caldera Governor's Hall and ask him for a donation again.
  • 13 of 16: This time threaten him with the slaves' account of his misdeeds.
  • 14 of 16: He doesn't have the money, but he gives you three chunks of raw ebony that you can sell in various shops here and in Ald'ruhn City.
  • 15 of 16: And hey, you can always go back to the mine and steal lots of ebony from the ebony deposits and crates in there. Just make sure you do it in Sneak mode so you don't get caught.
  • 16 of 16: When you're through with that, return to Truptor and hand over the 500 gold to get six magic scrolls.
