The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Get Skull-Crusher.
1 of 18: Varian's final artifact-finding quest has you going after a terrific blunt weapon called Skull-Crusher.
2 of 18: Talk to Llaalam Dredil in the Grand Council Chambers in Ebonheart about the Halls of the Dead and to Nalasa Sarothren at the Elven Nations club in Vivec's Hlaalu Plaza about the sealed Daedric ruin to get some clues as to where to go.
3 of 18: You'll end up looking for a ruin named Anudnabia near Sadrith Mora.
4 of 18: However, once you find Anudnabia at location 3 on the Sadrith Mora map, you'll see that its only entrance is blocked by rubble.
5 of 18: That's where the "Halls of the Dead" come in.
6 of 18: Find the Omaren Ancestral Tomb at location 4 and explore it.
7 of 18: There isn't much in the tomb besides the huge hole in the wall in the NW room. However, be sure to pick up the Exclusive Rising Force potion from the floor in the first room. You might need it. (There's also a Cheap Rising Force potion behind the nearby trapped door.)
8 of 18: Go through the hole in the wall and follow the tunnel along to come to a really big waterfall cavern.
9 of 18: Make your way down to where a Storm Atronach guards a chest. You want the key from that chest (and maybe the Bargain Rising Force potion).
10 of 18: Once you have it, either levitate up to the platform with the door, or carefully climb up the narrow rock pathways to reach it.
11 of 18: Go through the door to enter the forge area of Anudnabia, which is exactly where you wanted to go.
12 of 18: As soon as you're in the forge, check the floor nearby for a Scroll of Windwalker.
13 of 18: Fall down into the water and go through the passage to reach a room that's been partially iced over by a Frost Atronach.
14 of 18: That room has a heavily locked and trapped door, but it'll open easily if you have the key from the chest in the tomb's big waterfall cavern.
15 of 18: You're now in the forge itself. Use one of your levitating objects (or just cast the spell) to get around more easily in here.
16 of 18: The magic hammer you want is in the locked chest that's floating directly above the forge's fiery pit. The key that opened the door will open it, too.
17 of 18: You can also get an armorer's hammer from the anvil and several neat weapons from nearby rocky ledges. There's also another Rising Force potion hiding near the ledge with the books.
18 of 18: When you're through there, return to Varian to finish the quest and get a magic ring. If your Blunt Weapon skill is under 40, you'll get Foe-Grinder (with a +20 Fortify Blunt Weapon enchantment); otherwise, you'll get Foe-Quern (only a +5 Fortify Blunt Weapon enchantment).
