Can I get back stolen items that the guards take from me?
  • 1 of 5: Yes, you can.
  • 2 of 5: Any time you surrender and pay a fine or serve jail time, the guards take away every item you're carrying that's tagged as having a particular owner. (To view the ownership lists for items, use the PC Cheat Code command TFH.)
  • 3 of 5: However, those items don't just disappear into nothingness. They're put in specially-marked "evidence chests," from which they can be restolen by a capable thief (you).
  • 4 of 5: NOTE: When you rise to the rank of Knight Protector in the Imperial Legion faction, you have legal access to all evidence chests and no longer have to sneakily raid them. (You do still have to pick the locks on the chests, but it's not seen as a crime.)
  • 5 of 5: There are several evidence chests in various parts of the game, and which one your stuff gets put in depends on where it was taken from you.
