The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Hints
Ring in Darkness
of 12: Lalatia Varian is standing next to the altar in the Imperial Chapels in Castle Ebonheart in Vivec. You have to be an Adept in the cult and swear an oath to do the Oracle Quests before you can get the first one.
of 12: Your first quest is to find the legendary Ring of the Wind.
of 12: First, go up to Duke Vedam Dren's room in Ebonheart's Grand Council Chambers and talk to Llaalam Dredil about "Ring of the Wind" to get a few clues from him.
of 12: The ring is in the possession of a powerful battlemage in the cave named Nammu (location 7 on the Tel Aruhn map).
of 12: Enter it and fight your way to the huge cave room with the big stone pillar. Galmis Dren, the current ring-holder, will fight you to the death there.
of 12: If you can kill him, you can find the Ring of the Wind on his body. It adds 30 to your Agility attribute as long as you're wearing it, so put it on immediately.
of 12: Now go check out all the storage containers Dren has lying around up on the catwalk around the stone pillar.
of 12: There's also a most unique slave here that you can "free."
of 12: Talk to Jon Hawker about "Divine Intervention" and then give him a Divine Intervention scroll. If you don't have any, you can get some from the nearby containers.
of 12: He'll use the scroll to teleport away after giving you two very nice magic gloves called Zenithar's Warning and Zenithar's Wiles (you also get a +1 to Reputation).
of 12: When you return to Varian with the ring, be sure to mention Hawker and his reward.
of 12: You'll learn that he was really a physical manifestation of the god Zenithar, and you'll get an extra +2 to your Reputation for mentioning it. And you get to keep the Ring of the Wind, too!
