  • 1 of 4: A telegraph key is essentially a circuit kept apart by a spring. That is, you need two pieces of metal that you can tap on to make an electrical connection, and that will then bounce apart on their own to break the connection.
  • 2 of 4: You'll need the following: a butter knife from the restaurant car (look in the butter on the buffet table), the pliers, the hammer, and  the large nails from the snowshoe crate.
  • 3 of 4: Combine the knife and the pliers to get a bent knife; that's the essence of your springy key.
  • 4 of 4: Now combine knife, hammer, and nails. Voila!
