Murder in the Abbey Hints

How can I open the sealed crock?

  • 1 of 21: The first thing you will need to do is work out how it is sealed.
  • 2 of 21: Examine it and Leonardo will tell you.
  • 3 of 21: There is a layer of wax sealing it shut.
  • 4 of 21: Wax is usually pretty easy to remove, isn't it?
  • 5 of 21: Apply a little heat, and you will have it melting away to nothing at all in no time at all!
  • 6 of 21: The easiest place to do this is the kitchen, but you are going to need a few items first.
  • 7 of 21: Firstly, you're going to need to have won Martin over by playing his little "name-the-spices" game.
  • 8 of 21: After you have identified the thyme and oregano correctly, you will be able to use his stove.
  • 9 of 21: So let's go find a pan to place on it, and some water to put in that pan!
  • 10 of 21: The pan is hanging on a wall somewhere in the abbey ready to be picked up.
  • 11 of 21: It's in the hospital, right by the entrance. Eladio won't mind you taking it at all.
  • 12 of 21: Now for some water. What's a traditional fourteenth-century water source?
  • 13 of 21: A nice big hole in the ground.
  • 14 of 21: Head to the well, and use the rope to pull the bucket of water up.
  • 15 of 21: Argh! Bruno's now managed to fall INTO the well. Nice job, kid.
  • 16 of 21: As much as I'd like to leave the disobedient little tyke in there, we'd best get him out.
  • 17 of 21: After he's gotten out (and FORGOTTEN to bring the water bucket up), he will go back to the cells to change out of his wet clothes.
  • 18 of 21: However, those wet clothes are actually a burden in disguise, as the water dripping from them will serve our purposes perfectly.
  • 19 of 21: Go and place the pan underneath the wet robes hanging in Leonardo's cell to collect some water from them.
  • 20 of 21: You can now use this pan of water on the stove to heat it.
  • 21 of 21: And, then use the sealed crock with the pan to melt the wax and open it!
