Murder in the Abbey Hints
How can I get a key to the crypt?
of 18: This is another thing we will need to make sure we have done today before we can progress.
of 18: Once you've gotten access to the crypt, by asking the Abbot to take you down there, if you ask him about the key he will give it to you. However, as soon as you try to leave the room with it, he will take it back from you.
of 18: If you've played another monastic adventure game, Broken Sword, you might have an idea of what to do here, as a similar puzzle was featured in that game.
of 18: I hope these hints are making a good impression on you.
of 18: And I hope I'm not just waxing lyrical, either.
of 18: Take an item into the crypt with you, and use the key with it to make an impression of the key's shape.
of 18: The item you need is made of a soft, impressionable substance.
of 18: And, it can be found quite close-by. In the church's main chamber.
of 18: There are candles on the altar. Snag one!
of 18: Take it back into the crypt, ask for the key again, and use the key with the candle.
of 18: You can then return the key to the Abbot and steal away with your impression.
of 18: However, you now need to make a metal key from that impression.
of 18: There's only one person we can ask for this favor.
of 18: Head to the blacksmith!
of 18: Go to the smithy and ask Nicholas to make a key from the wax mould.
of 18: He will agree to do so, but he has a large pile of work to do first.
of 18: Perhaps there is a way to make him forget that work?
