Myst IV: Revelation Hints
Using the Journal
The Journal is your record of all pictures taken during the course of a game, along with any annotations you might have made. These could include (but are certainly not limited to) where you were, what you were doing at the time, other surrounding information not seen in the camera picture, etc.
To access the Journal, right-click the mouse (to allow the cursor to move freely to the bottom of the screen), then click on the Journal (the icon immediately to the right of the Camera, at the lower left-hand corner of the screen). A movie camera device will come up, and you can select any pictures that you have taken in the past, either by clicking the "forward" and "back" arrows, or grabbing the slider control that goes around the outside circle, and sliding it to any desired picture.
Annotations can be made by typing free-form text beneath any picture. Previous annotations can be modified simply by overwriting them.
Use the Camera and Journal combination to avoid the need to reload old saved games to go back and look at things you've seen previously.
