Myst IV: Revelation Hints
How do I get the Camoudile to the "right place"?
1 of 4: The Camoudile will follow the moving Mangree on each turn (snapping at the base of the newly-occupied enclosure). So, if you plan the order that you move the Mangrees, you can trick the Camoudile into moving into the center of the camp.
2 of 4: You'll need to make sure that -- as you make the Mangrees move -- the Camoudile will be moving from one side of the pit to the other. For example, moving a Mangree from the second enclosure (from the left) into the left-most one, and then moving a Mangree from the third (center) enclosure to the (now-empty) second one, only causes the Camoudile to move from beneath the first enclosure to beneath the second enclosure.
3 of 4: You must plan your moves so that JUST BEFORE you are ready to throw a fruit, the Camoudile will be forced to cross the pit in the center of the camp, giving you time to call the fruit-throwing Mangree.
4 of 4: So while you are moving the Mangrees around, and getting them into place, it may not be vital to consider where the Camoudile is. But when you are "ready to strike", you must already have the correct Mangree in the first enclosure, and then have an empty enclosure in a position that will cause the Camoudile to have to go across the center of the camp -- between the second enclosure and the fifth one. For example, you might have the Camoudile standing at the base of enclosure 2, then move a Mangree from enclosure 4 to enclosure 5. This would cause the Camoudile to run from his current position (enclosure 2), and into the pit, on the way to enclosure 5.
