Myst V: End of Ages Hints
I somehow reached a Keep "early." Is this a problem?
I've heard reports from players who said that they somehow ended up in an age's Keep before they solved all of the other puzzles in that age -- usually when trying to draw a completely different symbol used elsewhere in that age, which the game somehow misinterpreted. As far as I know, once you end up in the Keep, there is no way to go back and explore the rest of the age with your slate, or to reset the age in any other way.
However, as far as the game is concerned, getting to the Keep is the only puzzle that counts. This means you can just continue along with the game by going to the next age and still get to the end. If you want to solve any puzzles that you missed, though, you will either need to load a saved game before this happened or else start a new game if you don't have a save available.
