Myst V: End of Ages Hints
How do I get the slate onto the pedestal?
1 of 6: There are basically two ways you can do this -- both of which you've probably seen at some point earlier in the game.
2 of 6: One way is to find out what the symbol on the pedestal is and then draw it so the Bahro takes your slate there for you.
3 of 6: You should be able to see the symbol from most of the possible angles, as long as the pedestal is at eye level -- although this tends to be easiest when the pedestal is rotated so that you can look at it head-on from the canal.
4 of 6: The symbol is two adjacent triangles, much like the shapes of the outer gates that are already open.
5 of 6: The other is simply to rotate the gate enough times that the you can just walk through the opening into the gate, and then put your slate on the pedestal yourself.
6 of 6: Either way, note that the opening in the gate is facing the *back* of the pedestal.
