How do I get out of the Foyer?

  • 1 of 20: Exploring the items in the room will be helpful.
  • 2 of 20: Especially the lion statue to the left of the front door (as seen when facing the door).
  • 3 of 20: Go close to the lion statue and click on it to open a hidden panel in the wall behind the lion.
  • 4 of 20: Study the puzzle inside the hidden panel...
  • 5 of 20: ...then look around the remainder of the room for a clue to solving the puzzle...
  • 6 of 20: ...in particular, look closely at the sarcophagi around the room.
  • 7 of 20: Notice anything in common between each sarcophagus and the puzzle?
  • 8 of 20: The puzzle needs some four-digit numbers...
  • 9 of 20: ...each sarcophagus is marked with two four-digit dates.
  • 10 of 20: Have you tried to enter the various different dates into the puzzle?
  • 11 of 20: Focus primarily on the *second* date near each sarcophagus.
  • 12 of 20: You'll need to enter the second date from each sarcophagus into the appropriate space in the puzzle.
  • 13 of 20: Match the two-letter codes from the puzzle with the names from each sarcophagus.
  • 14 of 20: Each of the names can be abbreviated into two initials to match the letters on the puzzle.
  • 15 of 20: Make sure that you look closely at the puzzle to see the correct list of letters.  If the puzzle is viewed from one step away, you'll see different (incorrect) letters. 
  • 16 of 20: Make sure to click on the small diamond shape just to the right of the row of numbers.
  • 17 of 20: If you've solved the puzzle correctly, you should see a brief cut-scene...
  • 18 of 20: ...of a secret panel opening under the stairs.
  • 19 of 20: Look closely inside the secret panel to find a key.
  • 20 of 20: Use the key on the locked door at the back of the room.
