Kitchen, Closing Procedure

  • 1 of 9: This one is on a page taped to a cabinet on the right side of the room as you enter.
  • 2 of 9: At the end of the instructions are a series of numbers: 1.3, 8.9, and so on. What is that supposed to mean?
  • 3 of 9: In this case, we're not talking about the alphabet. In this case, every set of numbers refer to a word.
  • 4 of 9: And the words in this case are all on this same page, in the 14 lines of text that tell you how to close the diner for the night.
  • 5 of 9: In each set of numbers, the first number refers to the line number, and the second number refers to the word in that line.
  • 6 of 9: For example, the first set of numbers is 1.3. So look at line 1 and count to the third word, which is "Daryl." The message decodes as --
  • 7 of 9: "Daryl brings secrets to diner to get the cash for life so finer."
  • 8 of 9: In addition to the bad poetry, this one isn't particularly helpful, except to tell us that Daryl's not above suspicion. Which I think we all knew, right?
  • 9 of 9: The letters and number at the end are Hg:L3.
