What am I doing with the books by the teeth?

  • 1 of 7: You will have noticed that there are two sets of shelves with books you can move; they click, but nothing seems to happen. Huh?
  • 2 of 7: You won't be able to do anything with this until you get into the secret room.
  • 3 of 7: Read the journal on the desk, then look closely at the teeth diagram above the desk. Any thoughts here? If you're playing as a junior detective, you can call Ned for some help on this one; or you can read to the end of this hint for a step-by-step answer.
  • 4 of 7: In the section of the book called "The History of Quincy T. Booker's Teeth," we have a list of the different teeth Quincy had worked on throughout his life. Can you locate those teeth on the diagram?
  • 5 of 7: Now go back downstairs to the library and look at the books with the tooth bookends again. The bottom row has the same number and arrangement of books as a juvenile mouth has teeth, and the top row is the same as an adult mouth. Aha!
  • 6 of 7: So what you need to do is pull the books that correspond to the teeth Quincy had work done on, in the order that the work was done. Remember, right means the patient's right, which would be the doctor's left.
