You said to do something, and I did it, but it didn't work.
1 of 2: That's very often because the game won't let you solve puzzles unless you find out the stuff you need in the game yourself.
2 of 2: For example, if there's a safe with the combination 3-6-9-1, and you're supposed to find it out from reading it in a book, but instead you skip the book and just read it in my hints here, it won't work; you have to actually go find the book and read it in the game before the combination will work.
