How do I get the shovel by Renee?

  • 1 of 4: You can look at it all you want, but you can't take it (or rather, ask Renee about it) until you know why you need it.
  • 2 of 4: Come back after you've gotten into the secret room and read the handwritten book, particularly the bit titled "Steps in the Right Direction."
  • 3 of 4: When you finally get to ask Renee for the shovel, she says you can have it if you gather her some mushrooms.
  • 4 of 4: Once you have all five mushrooms, bring them back to Renee; then you can take the shovel and get to work on solving the Charlie Wicker puzzle.
