Nancy Drew 18: The Phantom of Venice Hints
What am I supposed to be doing in the stakeout?
1 of 5: What happens is you see a bunch of shadows, and you have to figure out which ones are cops and which one is the Phantom.
2 of 5: Listen to four messages and figure out where the cops are going to be. Then watch five shadows pop up, and click on the one you didn't hear a message about.
3 of 5: The cops (and the Phantom) always appear in the same locations. Along the top wall, they might be behind the red and blue umbrellas, the boxes of red and white flowers, or the statue of a cat. On ground level, they might be behind the tree, the statue, the fountain, the car, the wall, or in the doorway leading to the gondolas.
4 of 5: The Italian can be a little scary, but the only part you really need to worry about is the last word or two -- the nouns and the colors. For example, the phrase, "Alla sinistra dei fiori bianchi" means "to the left of the white flowers." But you only really need to care about the last two words: "fiori bianchi," and then you know that cop is by the white flowers.
5 of 5: So if the cops say, for example, that they're going to be next to the tree, the red umbrella, the white flowers, and the wall, and you see those four shadows plus one by the statue of a cat, the one by the cat is the Phantom. Click on him quick!
