Shamrock Formulae

  • For simplicity's sake, let's rename the shamrocks as letters:
    Dark leaf on top = A
    Dark leaf on right = B
    Dark leaf on bottom = C
    Dark leaf on left = D
    Dark leaves top and bottom = E
    Dark leaves left and right = F
    No dark leaves = G

    With that in mind, this is how these formulae work out:
    A = 3
    B = A x E / G 
    C = A + G
    D = B x A x G / F
    E = 12
    F = A + E + B - C
    G = 6

    And therefore --
    A = 3
    B = 3 x 12 / 6 = 6
    C = 3 + 6 = 9
    D = 6 x 3 x 6 / 12 = 9
    E = 12
    F = 3 + 12 + 6 - 9 = 12
    G = 6
