The final picture seems to show her in a nursing home, and things could be worse. All the same, how well she does depends on how much functioning she lost in that explosion all those years ago. She might be able to find herself again, and Donal is a caring soul, so things could go well for her. But why was she "taken into custody," as Nancy says? It sounds like she was arrested -- but perhaps Nancy just means they took care of her. Let's hope so.
